This small Treasure Box is hand-made and constructed from four wood species. The ends are a sandwich of 7 Poplar veneers in between a 1/4" pieces of Cambria. The sides and lid are made from Curly Maple and Cherry banding on the edges of the lid. The handle is a sandwich of Cherry and Curly Maple veneers. Cherry will darken over time to a rich auburn hue. The lining is faux suede. Hand rubbed oil finish. The end pieces are mounted 1/8" above the bottom of the box, giving the sensation that they float above the surface.  Made by a local craftsman in Lee's Summit.
